Ferrotitanium

Steelmakers add titanium to deoxidise the melt and to tie up carbon and nitrogen, which stabilised stainless and interstitial-free grades depend on. Ferrotitanium is priced on its titanium content and cleanliness, so every lot is assayed and its oxygen and nitrogen levels stated before it is offered.
